Examples of our work
Client: Amtrak
Issue: Marketing to Ski Clubs
We designed a system that was preloaded with a list of Ski Clubs that had booked group travel in the past. An email was generated to these clubs offering them an incentive for visiting the site. The registration included a survey that collected data like what months did they ski, number on avg. trip, etc. and offered them brochures about Amtrak ski trips. We also built in an email tool that would actually allow Amtrak to run a report on the survey questions then email a certain group. For instance, if they had a train leaving in 2 weeks with 60 seats left, they could email a "special offer" to all the clubs who had 60 people or less, that wanted to travel to that destination, in that month. The program was very successful for the Ski Amtrak promotion.
Client: Western Folder Distributing Company
Issue: Inventory - Develop a system that would allow clients to view and manage their inventory online.
The system we designed included secure client logons that allowed users and view and manage their inventory. The system centered around a work que concept that tracked products that were running low, or were set to expire. The system would automatically alert users via email, or upon logon and then allow them to actually manage their inventory by increasing/decreasing order limits, changing expiration dates, issuing "destroy" orders, etc. This system has been wildly successful and is often cited as a reason that clients choose to work with Western Folder.
Client: American Airlines
Issue: Upgrade Certificate System.
Upgrade certificates are valuable travel vouchers. American needed a better system to request, approve requests, and track these vouchers than the string of forwarded emails they were using. We designed a system that allows staff to request the certificates via standard web form, the managers then approve requests online. Once a request has been approved, an email order is automatically generated to the fulfillment house to ship the approved quantity. The requester automatically gets notified that their order has been approved or edited. They also receive notice when their order has been shipped which includes a tracking link. This system has met American Airlines goal since 2001.
Client: Oneworld Alliance
Issue: Need to coordinate joint collateral production and distribution by 8 Alliance Partners across multiple languages in 8 countries.
York Technology Studio designed and built a robust system which started by tracking each piece of collateral through the stages from concept to creative, to printing, etc., which allowed brand managers to view the progress of each piece of material being produced by every partner. Next, the system handled the initial distribution of new materials from multiple warehouse around the world. The third major function of the system coordinated inventory and reorders from field offices of all 8 international airlines and seamlessly handled orders and shipment tracking from multiple locations warehouse locations. This is a complex, yet simple to use application that enabled successful marketing communication between all eight international partners.
